We provide individualized quality psychological services in a caring and calming environment. We are committed to helping children, adolescents and adults successfully navigate life challenges by promoting positive thinking, self-exploration, behavior awareness and hope. 

About US

Melissa Becher, Psy. D., LMHC, is a bilingual (English-Spanish) Licensed Psychologist with a specialization in neuropsychology. She has extensive experience working with children, adults and elderly patients.

 

Dr. Becher completed her bachelor’s degree Magna Cum Laude from the University of Puerto Rico and received her doctoral degree from Carlos Albizu University, Miami, Florida. Dr. Becher has conducted neuropsychological assessments and treated individuals suffering from neurological and psychological disorders, such as Traumatic Brain Injuries (TBI), Dementias, Cerebro Vascular Accidents (Stroke), Memory and Attention Impairments, Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson’s Disease, Depression, and Anxiety.

 

In addition, Dr. Becher has vast experience performing psychological and psycho-educational evaluations for children. She also has provided neurocognitive retraining, neurofeedback and biofeedback to individuals suffering from a variety of ailments in both the office and hospital settings.

DR. CARMEN CEDEÑO

Carmen M. Cedeno - Laboy, Psy D. is a bilingual post doctorate psychology resident with vast experience providing individual psychotherapy to children, adolescents and adults.

Dr. Cedeno obtained a master’s degree in Social Work from the Inter American University in Puerto Rico. She gained experience in her field working as a social worker at a psychiatric hospital in Puerto Rico. Later, she completed her doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology from Carlos Albizu University, San Juan campus in Puerto Rico. Currently she is working to complete her supervised post doctorate hours.  Dr. Cedeno specializes in mood disorders, behavior modification and difficulties with adjustments or life transitions. She has demonstrated a passion for helping clients increase their understanding of the factors that contribute to their struggles. Dr. Cedeno’s primary goal in therapy is to help people build a strong sense of identity as a foundation that allows them to grow into their best selves.

 

Dr. Cedeno believes that an integrative approach to therapy allows for more personalized treatment and has training in a range of evidence-based modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, EMDR, Family Systems Therapy, and Play-Therapy.
